I get so many questions about health counseling. Even some of my closest friends don’t understand what I do. I think it’s because so many people don’t understand the connection between what we eat, how we feel and ultimately, the decisions we make that create our lives.

When we eat what our bodies need, we experience clear thinking, energy, optimism, and confidence. Having those attributes will change your entire life. And sometimes our entire lives, or parts of them like jobs, relationships, exercise routines, need to change, so we can be as healthy as we deserve.

Health counseling is about honoring the whole person. It’s about connecting to your body to find out what foods you need for optimal health. It’s about using food to nourish, heal and fuel your body. It’s about making eating intuitive, flexible and fun.

When you stop eating pre-packaged, processed food, you stop wanting a pre-packaged, processed life. You are comfortable in your own skin and confident to create your best life. I’d call it magic if it wasn’t scientifically proven.

Health counseling isn’t about fad diets, one-size fits all recommendations and politically motivated advice. It’s also not about telling my clients what to eat. It’s not about discipline and willpower. And it’s not about sprouts and tofu!
